The Edwards Family (Raunds) May 2013
Firstly I would like to thank you for what turned out to be a very enjoyable experience. It was the first time that we had been canoeing, and the [Wildlife Trust] dawn chorus event was as good an occasion to take to the river.
We all felt that the staff were very professional, polite, friendly and informative, and could not fault their attitude towards the customer.
We also agreed that the boats and equipment were in a good and clean condition....adding to the overall impression of 'Canoe2' being a well run operation.
Barr having the supreme influence to have improved the weather, forcing some wildlife (such as otters, and water rats) out onto the river for us to view, and to serving up delicious bacon rolls on our return..... I do not feel that there is much that could be improved.
Thank you for making us feel so welcome.
Kindest regards
The Edwards Family

...my lad can't stop talking about it, great fun, thank you all.
Simon (Lymington) September 2012
Just thought I would send you a few words of thanks for taking care of us during our recent 2 day canoeing trip between Ringstead and Fotheringhay.
We all had a great time and were really impressed with the service we received. You had plenty of time to discuss options with us and nothing was too much trouble.
The river and weather were spot on and taking the small backwater routes was fun. We will definitely be coming back next year to try out another section of the River Nene.

Hello Canoe2
Myself, Warren, Shaun, Eion, Heather, Debbie, Megan and Richard would like to say a massive thankyou for all your help for getting us on the river safely.
We had a thoroughly great time with some magnificent views on the way. To me it felt like a seen out of Jurassic Park, we really did have an amazing time and would not hesitate to recommend you and your services.
Kindest regards
Nicholas (Stamford) August 2012
Thank you so much for our trip down the Nene, we all enjoyed it immensely (and were very lucky indeed with the weather). The especial high points for us were the tributary which takes off at Oundle Mill and the yurt. Have written a very positive write-up for Nene Valley Magazine.
Diane (Northampton) August 2012
Just wanted to say we had a great time yesterday - and even got sunburnt! It all seemed very well organised and it was a very easy-to-manoeuvre canoe. We'll see you later in the summer when I bring the other two boys.
Great Ormond Street Canoe Challenge (Rob & the crew). April 2012
Just a quick note to say many thanks for helping us out with our canoe challenge. The equipment provided was first class, and your assistance much appreciated.
We completed the 62 miles in 2.5 days, as planned, and managed to raise in excess of £9,000 for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. It was interesting spending 3 days in canoes, in the rain, during a drought!
We are hoping to run a similar event next year and without doubt will be calling on your services again.

Just to tell you my daughter and I had a fantastic day on the river yesterday, we had no problems with getting in or out at the portage points, or with transporting the canoe, even though most of the pulling was done by me!! Tom was really great with advice and getting us launched. We will most definately be back again very soon. Thank you again.
[and then, a few days later...]
Since Saturday my daughter and I have not stopped talking about our day. We have already decided our next canoe will be a 1 day canoe from Thrapston to Oundle. Thanks again.

Goodness me ladies and gents! This is THE activity for those wanting scenery, relaxation, FUN and a grand day going down the River Nene. Canoe2 is EXCEPTIONAL with their quality of canoes (the back rests are brilliant!) and the friendly induction...LOVED this company! Ian, the Director, was always helpful in information and his team was spot on. Simply wonderful!''
Richard (Woodford) September 2011
'What a lovely way to spend a Sunday! Canoe2 provided good quality equipment and the necessary H&S advice to have a wonderful day on the River Nene and picked us up in the minibus from Oundle to go back to Thrapston. I look forward to exploring further reaches of the Nene with Canoe2!
Higgins Family (Northants) September 2011
Richard, thanks for a fantastic day on Friday. We both loved it + here is a picture of Annabel just at the start looking up towards Gt Doddington.

Going on the Canoe2 weekend was like being a child again but on the coolest camping holiday that I could have ever dreamed about as a kid. You had the countryside, canoeing, water, fires, tents and outdoor cooking all into one. The only problem was I had to cook my own food so will have to bring the wife next time to top it all off! Was a great weekend for an adult so the family would absolutely love it!
Mat (London), August 2011
Was a well spent stag weekend! Spent some quality time with my brothers and close friends enjoying a lovely canoe (and predominantly just floating) through some wonderful countryside.
Despite a bit of time spent swimming (it was my stag so this was going to happen, by accident, or down to my friends) it did not deter me from continuing and the safety briefing and equipment were excellent.
The canoeing was organised so that we were dropped off and picked up puctually and food was organised for us half way through our journey at a lovely pub (The King's Head), with another pub (Oundle Mill) providing a fantastic setting for the end of the journey.
The campsite was well organised and top-spec with excellent food for the evening and breakfast. It was lovely to sit, chat and drink/eat around a nice open fire at the end of a stunning day.
Every one of the guys who came on the stag loved it for the opportunity to do something different but also because it was thoroughly enjoyable. Additionally all of their wives/partners were jealous and want us all to go next year.
Excellent service, value for money, an excellent setting and great fun!
Rob (West Country), August 2011
I had a really enjoyable weekend on the stag, the canoeing was great fun and competitive. The countryside was lovely, the food delicious and the camping cosy. Quite a unique weekend away!
Neil (Cornwall), August 2011
I never thought a stag weekend could be so enjoyable - the facilities and adventure were perfect for both a fun weekend and a break. Not a fault with the organisation, food, facilities or location - it was all absolutely perfect"

First time with Canoe2 yesterday, we loved it thanks and can't wait to come again. You all make it a very enjoyable experience. Cheers, Barrie.
Daniel (Wellingborough), March 2011
Just a quick note to say thanks. The first day was so good we had to have 2 days on the water instead of 1, and will be recommending you to everyone. We'll also be back very soon and will definitely be sorting out some dates for a canoeing / camping trip. The river couldn't be easier and I'd say it's safe for all ages, you've got a real niche there..All the best and see you soon.
Derek (Market Harborough), October 2010
Thanks again for a smashing time on the river - incredibly good weather and a very sunny, idyllic vibe, changing us from a bickering family scared of falling in into a happy little bunch of Hawaii 5-Oers! Will be in touch in Spring, and will definitely see you again for a paddle further downstream.
TRIAD TEAM (Holdenby), October 2010
Triad arranged the trip with Canoe2 as a team building exercise. It made a refreshing change to the standard tea building activities and we all thoroughly enjoyed our time on the river. Ian and Richard organised everything brilliantly; they were professional, yet fun, throughout the whole experience. We would definitely recommend using Canoe2 and are hoping to arrange another canoeing trip very soon.
Paul (Cambridgeshire), September 2010
The whole family had a really great day out, due to your excellent all round service, from the early morning briefing to the afternoon pick up. Look forward to seeing you next year.
Clare (Southampton), September 2010
A great 2-day trip. Very well organised supported, thank you. Looking forward to getting on the water again soon!

Ady (Rushden), September 2010
Fantastic two days!! Two lazy days of paddling from Thrapston to Fotheringhay. The kids and I loved it. Organisation by Canoe2 was a big help.
Clare (Butterfield Marketing, Northampton), August 2010
Id like to thank you and the team for a great day canoeing yesterday. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and saw some fantastic wildlife - and the weather was great too!s I phone up several times before making the booking and everyone I spoke to was very friendly and could not have been more helpful. We will certainly be booking with you again.
Chrissy (Northampton) August 2010
Just a quick message to say how much we enjoyed yesterdays trip. It was a fantastic day. Congratulations on all the hard work that has gone into getting started. You should be really thrilled. Nothing could improve the experience (except a cushion would have been good on the last half mile!). We will definitely book again.
Jessica (London), July 2010
Thanks so much to all the team for a very enjoyable and well managed two day trip on the river Nene. My sister and I had a wonderfully relaxing time paddling along, stopping to listen to birdsong or to identify the amazing array of wildflowers in the banks of the river. We saw almost nobody over two days, apart from some friendly narrowboat holiday makers, and ambling down that lovely, clean, slow river is a wonderful way to unwind. I felt as if we had been away from civilisation for two weeks, not two days!
Ben (Northampton), July 2010
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we had a good laugh (well, I did when the other 2 got wet!) and it was discussed within 15 minutes in to our paddling that we should do it more often. I think we spoke about doing it again next month. I think we will do a full day next time, and then the following month maybe have a go at a 2-day trip and camp out somewhere. It's something different to do, and I personally feel that theres not much to do, especially around Northampton so yeah, as you can tell Im pretty full of it! Just wished I had taken my camera!
Sarah (Watford), July 2010
We had a fabulous afternoon, thank you. You have a great team. Molly enjoyed herself on the boat but it is amazing how much the movement of a small dog can change the balance of the canoe! Im looking forward to doing a day trip with a bunch of friends soon. They have all seen the photos on FaceBook and the enquiries are coming in! Thanks again.
