You have up to six hours on the water. Unless conditions dictate otherwise, you'll paddle downstream toward Higham Ferrers Lock, and continue downstream remaining on the main river.
Or if you're in a 2-person craft, the more adventurous might perhaps explore the lovely Stanwick Lakes Backwater, before paddling back to Rushden Lakes.
Double Kayaks are an option, but we think this trip is best suited to our larger Canadian Canoes, allowing more space for your picnic!

Level: Easy (under most conditions)
Nice simple, lower cost option as there is no transport involved – You’ll simply paddle out from The Boathouse, across our lake, portage across to the river, and explore.
Maybe extending your adventure around the lovely, slightly trickier Stanwick Lakes backwater. When the time is right, simply turn around and paddle back, ending back at Rushden Lakes Leisure, Retail & Restaurants.
An alternative to this paddle would be to consider enjoying a day visiting Chester House Estate by Canoe…
