Canoe & Kayak Lessons at Canoe2 offer practical beginner level courses to introduce you to paddling.
Delivered by one of our experienced paddlesport instructors and coaches, the courses at Canoe2 use great kit, in a great location, following the Paddle UK / British Canoeing syllabi.
We strive to give you canoe and kayak lessons to meet your needs, whether it’s your first time or you’re looking to perfect those more advanced techniques.
BCAB Paddle START Award
2-hour session - £34 per person
Experience your first session on the water with the Paddle Start Award; learning useful skills for an enjoyable paddling experience. It aims to provide you with the basic knowledge to enable you to safely get in and out of your boat, make it move and return to your start point. This is your first step into the world of paddling, ensuring you feel safe, confident and ready to progress to the Discover Award.

BCAB Paddle DISCOVER Award
6-hour session - £100 per person
Your Discover Award allows you to develop your decision making and practical skills for a fun and safe time on the water, taking you on the next steps towards becoming a proficient and independent paddler. Learn how to choose and effectively use equipment, whilst developing an understanding of the factors which effect your paddling; giving you the confidence to progress making your own choices with the Explore Award.

BCAB Paddle SAFER Course
2-hour session - £34 per person
The new Paddle Safer course is ideal for those who own their own paddle craft and already have basic paddling skills. It’s an opportunity to develop safety skills when taking to the water. There is an ethos of ‘supporting the paddler’ with a focus on equipment, environmental factors, planning and rescues.
This course is a mixed-craft course, you can select Kayak or Open Canoe as your preferred craft during booking to complete the course in.

Availability & Booking Terms
Payment is in full upon booking – Please note that we cannot run courses unless we have a minimum of 4 people booked. Maximum group size of these courses are 6 people.
If the course is cancelled you will be informed at least a week before your chosen date, and we will hope to agree another date. Of course, if another date cannot be agreed, your payment will be refunded.
All official course qualifications will be issued by British Canoeing Awarding Body, which is a part of Paddle UK (Formerly ‘British Canoeing’, the National Governing Body (NGB) for Paddlesports.)
Custom Date Tuition Sessions
We can arrange special sessions for 4-6 people who wish to do one of these courses together.
Or if you can’t quite make one of the dates available, grab some friends and we can put on an extra date for you.

Age restrictions for under 18’s apply as follows:
Paddle Start and Safer Courses
Absolute minimum age 8 years old for Paddle Start courses.
Absolute minimum age 13 years old for Paddle Safer courses.
All under 18s must have an adult (21+) on the course, safe ratios apply.
Paddle Discover Courses
Under 16s accepted at course owners’ discretion – please contact us for more info.
16-17’s must be accompanied by an adult (21+) on the course, due to travelling off-site.
