Canoeing for Mental Health

As we get ready to start our 2023 season at Rushden Lakes, we can’t help but look back on the past 3 years during the Covid-19 pandemic and think about how much life has changed for us all and unexpectedly impacted our mental health. However, it’s important to make sure that we look after our mental health and getting out on the river could be the perfect way to do so.

Going for a short neighbourhood jog can help, but surrounding yourself with greenery and water that’ll make you feel more at peace whilst working on your paddling skills is an even better way to build your confidence and calm your mind at the same time. And whether paddling also helps you to relax and get some fresh air or maybe splash around and have fun, going out on the river is a proven way to help you de-stress from the pressures of normal life.
