Who is Canoe2?
Here at Canoe2, we are a Boat Hire operator based at Rushden Lakes Shopping and Leisure Complex, almost a stones throw from our initial home base at Ditchford Lock. Just a short paddle up river from the current base of operations from The Boathouse on the Boardwalk.
We offer Canoe, Kayak and Paddleboard Fun on the peaceful, pretty, easy-going River Nene, perfect for novices. Plus Pedalo and Katakanu Hire on the Lake, and a variety of other boating activities and services.

Background of Canoe2
For fourteen years (at time of writing), Richard, Ian & all the team have been offering canoe hire on The River Nene in rural East Northamptonshire, with great safety & paddle briefings and oodles of great advice from knowledgeable staff, and all the equipment you’ll need, including paddles, buoyancy aids, watertight containers and portage trolleys.
The River Nene is a lovely calm, gentle river, and is perfect for the novice paddler, and wherever required, we include pick-up or drop-off at the start or end of your trip, so you only paddle downstream. And we still offer this great, simple service to this day.
But just a year into our adventure, customers were asking for more. So, we introduced what has since become perhaps the most loved Canoe2 offering, our enhanced multi-day “Bundles” that also include overnight accommodation. Discovering the most beautiful, tranquil stretches of river over 2-days, you can overnight in carefully selected Bed & Breakfasts or Inns. Or even go “Champing”, camping in a glorious ancient church (shown above). And wherever you stay breakfast is included, as is our all-important baggage transfer, creating trips you just won’t want to end (honestly, just take a look at our reviews on TripAdvisor, Facebook, and our website).
And now, with our newest addition being Stand-Up-Paddleboard (SUP) Hire & Lessons, you can easily access this incredibly popular leisure pursuit – Great for fitness, fun and overall wellbeing.
